Manic Mom's Mental Myriads

Stop by and have a laugh from Manic Mom's Mental Myriads on Motherhood, and some other stuff too, but mostly motherhood, wifehood, thoughts on writing, etc. No politics will be discussed here or geography, and I will not be solving any mathematical equations. Just some BS on whatever I feel like blogging on...

Who's Thirsty and Who's Reading?

How did you find me, and why are you here, and give me one good reason not to get a grandenonfatsugarfreevanillalattenowhip or a grandecafevanillalightfrappucino tomorrow morning? I'm caving....

Seriously though, I'm interested in seeing who stumbles across Manic Mom, who are my fellow bloggers, who likes to lurk, and if there are any potentially (hot, preferably!) male stalkers out there who are just dying to kidnap me and make me drink millions and millions of dollars worth of lattes, non-fat of course!

So please drop a note and say hello! Also, tell me what your favorite drink is, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, whatever. Maybe it will get my mind off the demon lattes!

Hi. Because I am awake, and not because of Starbucks, I thought I would drop you a comment.

I am proud of you! Keep up the good work. And besides, you only have 2 more days untill Friday, which is when you said you MIGHT have one. By then, they may only be a distant memory!

E.

Venti soy hot chocolate.

Drop the milk, it has casein, a carcinogen with a very high statistical link to being THE trigger for various cancers, including breast cancer.

How's that for disincentive for your lattes?

One good reason: because you'll beat yourself up after giving in, and that just takes up too much creative energy.

Another good reason: what Dating Dummy said about casein. We're not meant to drink milk after we've been weaned.

Favorite drink: margarita. Or Mandarine Napoléon, a delicious cognac with orange essence. DAMN, it's good! Oh, and Gloss, a cherry/ginger concoction.

I will comment because I am a loyal reader, but I can't think of a reason to give up your Starbucks except it's damn expensive!

My favourite drink- BLACK COFFEE! and I drink it everyday! I don't see anything wrong with a latte- but skim milk and sugars and sugar subs are not very healthy at all. Go for a whole milk latte with no sugar. ;)

I caved. And after I did, I got Devon's comment and it made me feel completely, completely OK about having a latte.

Erin--thanks for being proud of me, I hope you haven't lost respect!

DD_- I don't think I drink enough milk anyway, even with my latte habit. Plus, I had a breast exam on Monday and no lumps, not that that's a guarantee, but I'm very proactive when it comes to my boobs.

Gabi--I gave in, and I thought I would beat myself up but I didn't. I seriously was so tired this a.m. and was in bed til 9:30 while my kids were begging me to get up. The Starbucks got my day started!

BostonMom (Is that like BostonRob from Survivor/Amazing Race?)... I'm right there with you on the DP. Much tastier than the Diet Coke!

Glad you were ok with it. You went two days ( or three?) without it. I could probably get into a debate with dating dummy, because I see soy as being very bad but real milk is not.

They did a study (wish I knew where it was now) that basically said coffee in small amounts is not bad for you. It's been shown to help people think more clearly. I need to find it now- but I did used to actually manage a Starbucks- so I was that evil woman in an apron shoving the coffee in your hand to drink which is probably why I don't see a problem with it! heehee..

Devon--so can you confirm to me that a grandenonfatsugarfreevanillalattenowhip has just three weight watcher points? The latte might not make me smarter (more smart) but it certainly boosted my spirit today!

no! sorry! I am a weston price girl.. www.westonaprice.org .. so I eat my fat, I have never been on weight watchers.. ;) I could tell you how healthy fat is for you, though! heehee.. mmMMM.. latte.. I might be hitting Caribou Coffee tonight for a coffee treat of some sort, I haven't indulged in more than black coffee in a week..

Heh. Anyone who writes a "Turd in a Punchbowl" poem is gonna get a visit. And I did see your poem earlier, when I swung by to check out DD.

But until you suck it up and stick the Punchbowl Meme on your blog as a post (not as a mere comment somewhere else!), there's no place on the meme tracking page to put you. Thems the rules, ya know!

Turd in a punchbowl,
Gawd, but it stinks!
Turd in a punchbowl,
An occasion for links!

I count it as a good day when I start with a Grande Cafe Mocha and end with a Martini. *sigh* I haven't had a good day in awhile...

I cannot remember how I found your blog... weird. I think it might have been through the dashing DD, but I am not sure.

Hey! Girl, you should be drinking green tea. Or black. They contain antioxidants, meaning you'll look fabulous and stay warm in the windy city. :) Plus, throw a little Splenda in there and there's not a molecule of fat in there. I mean, you know how I feel about fat grams -- wouldn't consume one unless at Krispy Kreme. :) (Or McDonald's or Wendy's, etc.)

Don't ask me what's in them, they are just fabulos if made right (and unfortunatly they aren't always made right).
